Terra Online Discovery trial?

Terra Online has added a discovery trial similar to what world of warcraft has added. They let you play from level 1 to 28 without charging you any money at all. This is a pretty nice feature for people thinking of playing Terra Online because they would get a first hand look without feeling like they have only a short 7 days to try it out.

If you have not tried it you'll defiantly be hooked on the fighting system combo system and not having to smash the Tab button to fight people in pvp. Terra's player base seems to be steadily growing and I have seen many more new players in the US servers coming back to try it again. I mean it's not like there are Tera Online private servers that you can play anyways so with the chrono scrolls and the cheap cost of the game its worth it to just go out and buy it.

I heard that US servers finally obtained the lowering cost of battlegrounds gear making it easier for others to obtain which is a great plus for many people. My friend saved up his points so that he could gear up a second character to play battlegrounds with as well. They should be adding the new arena to the US servers shortly too giving another great way to enjoy pvp.

Terra Online

Terra Online is a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that is one of the very first true action combat mmorpg's. They sport a very new player friendly combo system that only gets better as you progress though your levels. The questing system in Terra Online takes a little bit to get used too because while it is easy it still does not compare with games like WoW which gives you everything on a silver plater.  PvP in Terra Online is something we have not seen in a mmorpg since 2004 and earlier making it a big favorite of older players who might have played games like Runescape, Conquer Online, Perfect World, and World Of Kungfu. Of course I'm sure there are other similar games which might fall under the similar games but I think by now you get the picture of what type of game we are talking about.

One of Terra Online's downfalls comes from being a Korean based game that was not made in the US so the lack of advertising makes it hard to compete with the more cookie cutter mmorpg's that are not anywhere near as good as Terra Online but have the advertising that Terra lacks. From the aspect of someone who's played Terra Online since it came out although I don't see any other game out on the current market or coming out in the future that makes me want to drop Terra at least so far. Not even Blade and Soul is that good.

The problem with Blade and Soul is the feel of the combo system seems slow and some what unreasonable you can't get in and enjoy it because you have to worry about how many combo points that you have before you can proform the really good attacks your class has to offer. Whether they fix this issue in the future or not will be up to how korean's feel about it. The lack of having healers is an interesting one but at the same time I could see many people that might not like it or might feel its too difficult especially WoW players that like to stand in fire or die in attacks.

In Terra Online healing classes still have the dispelling of debuffs and the healing but Terra does not award you anything for being dumb if you stand in poison you'll die much faster then in games like WoW. Many attacks that you miss dodging will most likely one hit kill you and bosses enrages aren't soloable so don't expect you'll be able to kite and kill a boss cause in the raids if you run into the room you'll get oneshot after the enrage hits.

Leveling in Tera Online is one thing that seems to be a controversy some people say it feels to grindy but there are enough story quests dungeon quests and normal quests to get you from 1 to level 60 without having to do the repeatable mob grind quests or killing the same level monster for 20 levels. I suspect people might not know what a grind quest is especially since many of them where still wearing dipers when us older gamers played games like Conquer Online which orignally never had any quests and consisted of grinding on monsters at basilisk's or in Labby. But I will say at least Terra Online is more of a grind fest then WoW since now it takes less then 21 hours to get to level 85.

If your used to having everything handed to you like WoW has been doing since WOTLK came out then Terra Online is not going to be your game. If you've been playing a game that requires you to work for your items and you enjoy doing it then Terra Online might just be one of your favorite games. But the best way to find out whether you want to play it is with the free trial that they provide you can find it here.
